Registration
Q: Do I have to register to use the site?
A: No. You can browse and search profiles without registering. However to use features like IM, chat, and Extra castings you will be asked to login to your account, and by having your profile with your best pics and detailed info, you increase your chances of being picked by Agencies, Casting Directors & Industry professionals.
Creating and Managing Your Profile
Q: Do I Have to Register to Create a profile?
A: Yes. You must be a registered user to create a profile. Basic registration is free.
How do I post a picture to my profile?
The standard method for uploading a picture onto your portfolio is outlined below.
Click on My Home on the main menu.
Click the Upload Photos link in the pictures section.
To select a photo from your hard drive or a disk, click the Browse button and select an image.
Once you have selected an image from your computer and it has appeared in the File Name text box, click Upload.
You can add up to 10 photos by following this procedure and uploading images one at a time.
What kinds of pictures are best?
Any picture of just you that lets us see your face clearly is great. It is also a good idea to include something that shows you from the knees up.
StarExtras may reject:
Pictures that include anyone other than you.
Pictures that are dark.
Pictures that are fuzzy.
Casting Directors, and Agents
Q: How do I use the site?
A: Create an account by going to registration page, login, and you will have full access to the site.
Q: How do I contact a StarExtras member?
A: Once your logged in to your account, you will get several options to contact a StarExtras member.
Privacy
Q: I don't want my address, phone number or email address to appear on your site. Should I be concerned?
A: We do not display personal information on our site to protect the safety of our community. And we also don't share this info with third party groups.
Q: If all my information is private how can someone contact me?
A: When your profile is selected, they will be able to contact you by selecting send message, and you will receive the message in your StarExtras inbox without the sender seeing your private information.

How do I find Extra castings in my area?
To find Extra castings in your area, click on Extra Castings on the main menu. To apply for a casting, click on the casting call, and apply to the contact listed in the casting.
Who can I message? Who can message me?
All Star level members can message anyone on StarExtras, and they can message you back. Messages will appear in the Received Messages and Sent Messages sections of the Contact Center page unless the user sent them directly to your email through our website. To see them, just click on Contact Center on the myhome page. Casting directors and photographers will also be able to message you with casting opportunities.
How do I improve my chances of getting a job?
First of all, utilize all of StarExtras's services. Put up clear pictures of yourself in your portfolio and keep your profile updated, then apply to as many auditions as you can. People who apply to several auditions every week have a much higher chance of finding work than people who only apply to one or two. Perseverance is key!
